LEE HARTLEY WITH THE JOE ALTERMAN TRIO

Lee Hartley with the Joe Alterman Trio image

Ms. Lee Hartley celebrates the music of Dusty Springfield, Ray Charles, Peggy Lee, Les McCann, Joe Sample, Miles Davis and her own original material from her recent CD release, Whole Lotta Somethin'. Joined by The Joe Alterman Trio, Hartley makes a rare New York appearance sure to please your soul.

"Lee is like a fine, long lived recipe. Even though she's a young, energetic soul whose learned from "What Was"...It gives her the "Just Right Know How" to handle to music of "Now". There is No One like her. She is the Full Package." - Les McCann

Hot House Jazz described Joe Alterman as "a pianistic wunderkind whose style recalls the elegantly swinging trappings of artists like Erroll Garner and Red Garland eschewing the well-mined vein of hard bop favored amongst today's younger players in favor of a more rounded vintage technique. Alterman brandishes a lyrical pianistic touch and an intuitive sense of swing that are a uniquely wonderful joy to hear. Alterman's remarkable gifts are enough to reassure anyone that the future of jazz is in good hands."

“TALK TO ME” - THEATRICAL DIALOGUES FROM THE PAST TO THE PRESENT
Dagmar Spain Iorgo Papoutsas and David Friend, piano
“Talk to Me” - theatrical dialogues from the past to the present image

In this accumulation of past and present works Dagmar Spain and Iorgo Papoutsas take us on a theatrical roller coaster embodying each diverse characters, enjoying and celebrating the past six years of their artistic collaboration and creations together with their original, witty and provocative scenes. Enjoy this couple asking those questions we all know, but still have no answers to. The common theme in this performance is our desire to always get just a little bit closer to each other and as so often in life we fail to do so. To keep up the humour, grace and hope might be the reason to see this show. Accompanied by live piano music played by David Friend.

"Literature, film and theater stimulate her imagination as much as movement and structural concerns; she (Dagmar Spain) creates world filled with mystery.” - Katia Bachko, The New Yorker
