The Michael Musillami Trio with Mark Feldman will kick off a short run of Northeast concerts with a performance at New
York's Cornelia Street Cafe. The group will be on the road in support of its new CD/DVD set, The Treatment (Playscape
Recordings), which will be released the previous week on September 25th. This newly formed ensemble combines the well-
documented chemistry of guitarist/composer Michael Musillami's longstanding trio (featuring bassist Joe Fonda and drummer
George Schuller) with the distinctive voice of violinist Mark Feldman, a 25-year veteran of the creative music scene who has
recorded with everyone from Muhal Richard Abrams to John Zorn

Karen Hildebrand grew up in Colorado and came to New York City via
San Francisco in 2003. She is a "sly wordsmith, modest and witty,"
and has been described as a literary version of Emmy Lou Harris. Her
writing has appeared in the North Beach Beat, West View, Kitchen
Sink, Slipstream, Folly, and is forthcoming in River Oak Review,
Pennsylvania English, and Sulphur River Literary Review. Her first
book, One Foot Out the Door, was published by Three Rooms Press in
2005 and she's currently working on a new manuscript, Rhinestones at
Nine A.M.

And, in the same period, physicists and musical instrument makers, working together with composers and performers, tried to understand the nature of musical genius and virtuosity, the underlying physics of acoustics, and the instruments themselves. Myles W. Jackson, the new Dibner Professor of the History of Science and Technology at Polytechnic University, tells us of this exciting period. And talented young musicians, Pico Alt (Violin); Christina Courtin (Viola), and Jeremy Turner (Cello), play a Beethoven string trio for us.

The Nathan Eklund Group is a distinct jazz combo that released their first album, "The View From Afar", in 2006. Their
second album, "The Crooked Line", is set to be released on January 23, 2007 through the Jazz Excursion Records label. The
repertoire of the group is based on Eklund's original music and his unique arrangemants of other's material. Although there is
form and structure to every composition, the music is intended to give a great deal of interpretive responsibility and freedom to
each member of the group. Through this approach, each of Eklund's works become a group arrangement, utilizing the creative
energy and talents of the entire group.

Lawrence Joseph is the author of five books of poems, most recently Into It and Codes, Precepts, Biases, and Taboos: Poems 1973-1993, published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux in 2005. He is also the author of Lawyerland, a book of prose, published by FSG in 1997, which has been optioned for a film by John Malkovich. He is Professor of Law at St. John's University School of Law.
ANDREY GRITSMAN, a native of Moscow, emigrated to the United States in 1981. Gritsman is a physician who is also a poet and essayist. His poems, essays, and short stories in English have appeared or are forthcoming in over 60 literary journals. His work has also been anthologized in Modern Poetry in Translation (UK), Crossing Centuries (New Generation in Russian Poetry), The Breath of Parted Lips: Voices from the Robert Frost Place, and in Stranger at Home: American Poetry with an Accent.
He runs the Intercultural Poetry Series here at Cornelia Street and also edits an international bilingual online poetry magazine, www.interpoezia.net.
