DAVE ALLEN QUINTET
Jon Irabagon, tenor sax;  John Escreet, piano;  Drew Gress, bass;  Mark Ferber, drums;  Dave Allen, guitar

Guitarist and composer Dave Allen celebrates the release of his first recording since his critically acclaimed, Real and Imagined. He has been praised by critics as " An exciting and unique player in the mold of Pat Metheny, Ben Monder and Adam Rogers” (Lyle Robinson). Allen’s exploration of challenging, labyrinthine compositions will be realized by his new quintet featuring saxophonist Jon Irabagon, pianist pianist Gary Versace, and Allen’s long-time rhythm section of bassist Drew Gress and drummer Mark Ferber

"Allen has found a true voice, his effortless technique downplays the apparent complexity, paradoxically creating a cool surface sheen that has a white heat glowing beneath it. Each piece is like an aural painting or film in the way it slides across the psyche." -- All About Jazz
