The Quartet, "Mostly Other People Do the Killing" will be joined by pianist Ron Stabinsky for a One-Time-Only Quintet performance. The music will include compositions penned over the course of the band's 11 year history, documented on their 6 studio albums. Their most recent album, "Red Hot" also featured Stabinsky on piano in an expanded lineup. This will be the only performance by the original quartet with piano, so be prepared for even more mayhem than usual.

Come celebrate the release of Tipping Point, the sophomore album from Boston based violin and mandolin
virtuoso and Berklee College of music instructor Jason Anick. Joining Jason will be Brooklyn-based pianist Jason
Yeager along with bassist Greg Loughman and drummer Mike Connors.
Jazz violinist and mandolinist Jason Anick is rapidly making a name for himself as one of the top players on today’s
scene. The 28-year-old virtuoso is one of the youngest instructors at Boston’s Berklee College of Music and is in-
demand as a first-call sideman. Anick records and tours internationally with Grammy award-winning Nashville
guitarist John Jorgenson, who recruited Anick in 2008 while he was still a senior at Hartt Conservatory. He also
performs with the Rhythm Future Quartet, which is widely known for its fiery Gypsy jazz, but it’s Anick’s own
music that’s increasingly earning acclaim. He won top honors for improvisation in the ATSA Alternative Styles
competition, and his 2011 debut CD, Sleepless, was cited by jazzmando.com as "...a must have for any
jazz violin/mandolin fans".

Bryan and the Aardvarks explore inventive new sounds derived from jazz, classical, and cinematic soundscapes, combined with a stirring blend of pop and country music. Their compositions combine a hushed intimacy with memorable, singable melodies and a narrative directness that nevertheless leaves space for expressive improvisation. Their tastes tend to turn more to pop, rock, and singer-songwriter music, especially the likes of The Kinks, David Bowie, Elliott Smith, and Nick Drake. The latter two, who combine an incisive expressiveness with an air of mystery, seem especially relevant influences on Bryan and the Aardvarks. The trio Thumbscrew came about by accident, after bassist Michael Formanek subbed in a band including guitarist Mary Halvorson and drummer Tomas Fujiwara. Something special happened among them right away, so they formed a trio, a co-operative in the truest sense. They play originals by all hands, compositions whose rhythms may surge or lag or veer sideways according to their own internal logic. Bass and drums solo within the ensemble, not in quarantine. No one needs to be loudest. The blend is tight: one string (or metal) sound may bleed into another. It's something to hear--something twisty and turny and always on the move. Thumbscrew’s debut CD will be released on Cuneiform Records in January 2014.
