The son of a Greek Orthodox Priest, Nicholas Samaras is from Patmos, Greece (the “Island of the Apocalypse”) and, at the time of the Greek Junta was brought in exile to be raised further in Woburn, Massachusetts. He’s lived in Greece, England, Wales, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany, Yugoslavia, Jerusalem, thirteen states in America, and he writes from a place of permanent exile. His new book, American Psalm, World Psalm, is available from Ashland Poetry Press; he is completing a new book of poetry and a memoir of his childhood years living underground.
James Tolan is the author of Mass of the Forgotten (Autumn House Press) and the chapbook Red Walls (Dos Madres Press). Co-editor with Holly Messitt of New America: Contemporary Literature for a Changing Society, he worked for years as a poet in the New York City public schools with Teachers and Writers Collaborative. He is an associate professor at the City University of New York/BMCC.

In her early years in Bombay, singer Falu (aka Falguni Shah) was trained rigorously in the Jaipur musical tradition and in the Benares style of Thumrie, honing her talent for up to 16 hours a day. She later continued studying under the late sarangi/vocal master Ustad Sultan Khan, and continues to study with the legendary Smt. Kishori Amonkar (Jaipur style). Falu moved to the States in 2000 and was appointed as a visiting lecturer at Tufts University where she taught Indian Classical Music for 2 years. Falu’s subsequent career in the States had led to a series of brilliant and high profile collaborations with Yo-Yo Ma, Wyclef jean, Philip Glass, Ricky Martin, Blues Traveler and A. R. Rahman amongst others. She was appointed Carnegie Hall’s ambassador of Indian Music in 2006, where her shows at Zankel Hall have been consistently sold out (as part of the Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute series). One of Falu’s most astonishing recent performances occurred alongside A.R. Rahman for President Obama and the First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House for their First State dinner in Nov 2009.

He has taught in the undergraduate and graduate writing programs at many institutions. He has served on the faculty at Bennington College since 2003. In 2012 Wunderlich was named the Director of Poetry at the college, organizing on-campus readings, lectures and short residencies by prominent American and international poets. In addition, Wunderlich teaches at the Bennington Writing Seminars MFA program.
Wunderlich lives in New York’s Hudson Valley near the village of Catskill.

Poet (MFA, The New School) and classically trained soprano (BS, Mannes) Alyssa Morhardt-Goldstein is the founding editor of SOUND - a literary magazine on contemporary musico-poetics, co-creator/editor of DIORMA - a poetry journal and event series, and a staff writer for Luna Luna Magazine.
